Social Security funds are not up for grabs. If you want to reduce the debt, take the money from wasteful military projects, NOT from our retirement savings.
Why is this important?
All working people pay part of their wages into Social Security, where it is saved and then returned to us as income during retirement. Many of us, including myself, did not appreciate the value of this resource until the day when it turned out to be a vital, precious asset. Now, President Obama is proposing $112 billion in cuts to our Social Security benefits as part of his new budget. Meanwhile, wasteful military projects remain untouched. This is clearly wrong and should not be allowed.
