Please publicly announce the Ostomy Awareness Day in on October 5, 2013. Have our government leaders recognize a condition that very few people are willing to talk about, ostomies! An Ostomy bag is nothing to be ashamed of, it represents life!
Why is this important?
I would like to request that a resolution is passed to announce October 5, 2013 as "Ostomy Awareness Day". As an ostomy patient, it is vital that we build greater awareness about these life saving conditions. This day will not only allow us to raise awareness in the general public, but reach those individuals who seem lost following surgery.
