President Trump Must Answer for Rape
Jean Carroll, you have explained that what caused you to come forward about your accusation against Donald Trump, 6/21, is the New York Times article about powerful men raping women... “Ms. Carroll said she decided to write about her experience now because she felt she owed her readers transparency. 'I just thought, it’s time, I owe it to my beloved readers. I can’t keep up this facade.' Jean, the most powerful man in the world raped you, as you describe below. We who sign this petition urge you to file a case against Donald Trump with New York's Attorney General as New York state has no statue of limitations against rape. We urge you to act because what Donald Trump actually did to you, is what with our own ears we heard him glory in as he described in the “access Hollywood” tape: “I moved on her like a bitch ...you can do anything … grab women in their ….” (10/21/16) Even if he was just an average citizen he should have to defend himself against your accusation, and the accusations of sexual misconduct by at least 16 other women. How much more so should the President of the United States not be allowed to commit illegal and abhorrent sexual behavior against others.
Why is this important?
E. Jean Carroll, writing about a rape attempt by Les Moorines of CBS you explained why you did not go to the police “I am a member of the Silent Generation. We do not flap our gums. We laugh it off and get on with life....”Jean, America must not laugh this off: “... still wearing correct business attire, shirt, tie, suit jacket, overcoat, he opens the overcoat, unzips his pants, and, forcing his fingers around my private area, thrusts his penis halfway—or completely, I’m not certain—inside me. It turns into a colossal struggle. I am wearing a pair of sturdy black patent-leather four-inch Barneys high heels, which puts my height around six-one, and I try to stomp his foot. I try to push him off with my one free hand—for some reason, I keep holding my purse with the other—and I finally get a knee up high enough to push him out and off and I turn, open the door, and run out of the dressing room. The episode lasted no more than three minutes, she said. She said she has never had sex with anyone since.”
Jean, we know how difficult it will be to see him in court and empathize with you as reported in the NY Times. “Ms. Carroll said she never came forward because she feared death threats and 'being dragged through the mud, being dismissed'.” But rape must not be dismissed, and thousands, probably millions of Americans will honor you for your courage and commitment to see justice enacted.
Lastly, we men, who have signed this petition beg you to act because by not allowing one of us, in this case the most powerful man in American, to get away with his evil, every American will know that the sexual violence against women must not be ignored, or allowed to continue in our country, or anywhere else.
