President Trump, we want you to visit our troops fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan this holiday sea...
In his two years in office, President Trump hasn't visited the men and women fighting in either of our two wars. As a Purple Heart Iraq War veteran, I believe our commander and chief needs to show his support of our men and women in uniform and not just talk about it. Don't spend another holiday in your Palm Beach "Southern Whitehouse" at Mar a Lago. Show you respect their sacrifice by at least spending a few days in the combat zone like all the other presidents who served during wartime before you.
Why is this important?
I've spent numerous holidays away from home in far away countries. I know the toll it takes on our men and women in uniform to fight in a war and be away from their families, especially over the holidays. Every other president who served during wartime has shown our deployed forces respect by visiting them. If the president of the United States asks our military to fight these wars, he needs to at least visit them to show support. President Trump has said he'd "gladly" visit them "sometime soon." Let's hold him to that and show that he needs to make our military members and veterans a top priority.
