Presidential Citizen Medal for Jessica Ann Moore

Dr. Phyllis Moore-Tolliver: Jessica Ann Moore, a 19 year old honors student at Seton Hall University majoring in Psychology. Jessica's professional goal was to become a Psychologist specializing in helping men and women in the military who were suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

On September 24, 2010, Jessica attended a fraternity party. Jessica, a loving, sweet, and caring person that was always willing to help her fellow man performed a heroic action that night. An altercation occurred with a man that was not admitted to the fraternity party that she was attending. Within minutes the man returned looking for the individuals that he had the altercation with. When he did not find them, he began firing a gun. Jessica's friend was shot in the arm and face. Jessica in a heroic fashion attempted to shield her friend from further injury and was shot in the back of the head. Jessica later died from her injuries at 3:20 pm on September 25, 2010. This senseless crime has affected people all across the country and inspired many to action.

Why is this important?

So that Jessica Ann Moore (family) can receive the Presidential Citizen Medal for giving her life for her fellow citizen. Acts such as this should not go unnoticed.
