PREVENT AGENT INJURY--RAISE THE BAG SCALES
The bag scales at ground level requires agents to lift the full weight of the bag 10.5 inches to place it on the belt. This is causing injury and hardship for all customer service agents and is an immense safety issue. This is an unnecessary hardship and poor planning on the part of MYR Airport with an obvious lack of input from agents that are actually performing the job. Constant complaints have been dismissed. The scales need to be raised at least even with the belt or rollers need to be istalled dropping the bags onto the belt.
Why is this important?
Agents are experiencing lower back issues daily due to baggage scales being at ground level. Agents are therefore having to lift the full weight of checked baggage. The scales need to be raised immediately.
