Canada lynx are beautiful, intelligent wild cats that once ranged from Montana to New Mexico, but due to a declining population were protected by the Endangered Species Act in 2000. Now, the Trump Administration is planning to ignore wildlife scientists and remove these much-needed protections from imperiled lynx. In January 2018, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it believes lynx populations have recovered and that the agency will prepare a draft rule to remove these amazing wild cats from the Endangered Species List.
