Due to the recent tragedies, it's obvious that something needs to be done to mitigate the losses due to violence. As outlawing weapons from law abiding citizens is a direct violation of the Second Amendment and has no impact on the actions of criminals, we, the undersigned, hereby petition the government to institute the following:
1. Institute nationwide concealed carry legislation, permitting any law abiding citizen who qualifies under item (2) below to carry a weapon concealed.
2. Mandatory, instant background checks, with no record of the specifics of the transaction to be retained by any governmental agency
3. Elimination of "gun free zones", which currently are simply targets for criminals who wish to do harm to others with no fear of resistance.
4. Enforce the existing laws, such as lying on form 4473, straw sales, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, etc.
