Prom requirements

Blackwell High School students should NOT have requirements to go to prom. Students can only attend two proms at Blackwell for their entire high school career. It should not be dictated by the school by making the requirements of the following: 90% attendance, ICAP being completed, financial holds, and eligibility. How are students supposed to attend whenever they are sick and miss days that cannot be taken off if they cannot afford to go to the doctor? ICAP is already a requirement to graduate, so it does not need to be a requirement for something students should enjoy! Financial holds should NOT dictate students going to prom, due to the fact of students may not be able to afford these. And finally eligibility, this is NOT an extracurricular activity. Grades should not determine if students can enjoy one night out of the school year.

Why is this important?

FOR THE STUDENTS!
