Protect America's Local Community TV Stations From Cable Threat

The Federal Communications Commission should deny cable companies the right to deduct the cost of in-kind services from the money they pay community stations. The loss of this money could spell the doom of local stations.

Why is this important?

Cable companies are petitioning the FCC to deduct the cost of in-kind services from the money they pay to community stations. This could mean the end of this vital grass root system of communication which allows citizens to view local city council meetings and election debates. The law needs to stand as it is and thus protect the freedom of speech for our local communities.
