Protect Children From Adult Content In King County Libraries

We ask that:
1) The King County Library System require that unfiltered internet access be limited to computers in a designated adult-content area of the library away from the casual view of children.
2) If parents or children complain about adult content on a computer outside the designated area, the library staff is empowered to move that activity to the adult-content area.

Why is this important?

Adults may access content that is unsuitable for children, and potentially harmful for children. While there may be legitimate reasons to access that content, children should not be unavoidably exposed to it. If the Library wishes to provide a safe, educational atmosphere for children, it should take seriously its obligation to maintain that atmosphere.
