The Independence police department lacks adequate police officers
There is growing criminal encroachment from outside the community
That NOW is the time to address crime before it gets out of hand

Approval of the April 3rd public safety measure and will work for its passage
Why is this important?
The Independence community faces a serious challenge of not having adequate police officers to respond to growing crime.
This means poor response times, inability to effectively engage in crime prevention and greater risk to the overall community.
