To prevent homeowners to be put of of their own homes at the expense of someone else who doesn't pay rent or mortgage and name doesn't appear on the lease or mortgage.
Why is this important?
As a homeowner, I once was kicked out of my own home (for at least 3 months) due to accusation of assault charges brought against me by by son's former girlfriend, whom was staying with us rent free & out of the goodness of my heart. I thought it unjust & unfair that even though, there was no rental or lease agreement & her name wasn't on the mortgage that something like this be allowed to happen. I now realize this occurs often and think it unfair to homeowners and we have rights as homeowners.
