We are requesting your help in raising funds to place a full-page ad in the SF New Mexican prior to the City Council Meeting proposed for Dec 14th. The goal of this ad is to inform Santa Feans of the valuable asset they could lose forever and:
Request they attend the council meeting in person
Post comments in opposition to up-zoning on Prime.gov website (After Nov 30th when agenda will be posted).

Bruce’s recent article in the Old Santa Fe Associations clearly outlines the issues at stake in Preserving Old Pecos Trail from over-development by inappropriate rezoning:

We continue to wait for confirmation of the City Council meeting which should be posted on prime.gov on November 30, if the meeting is scheduled for December 14.
We will all need to re-submit comments at that time and plan to get people out in force to the City Council meeting.

Maggie Moore has written that the Governing Body is likely to hear this case Dec 14. 2022, but no definite date has been scheduled as yet. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, pleas send a link to this petition to friends. Thank you.

Margaret Moore at the City of SF has stated that the Council hearing for Old Pecos Trail regarding rezoning will NOT be scheduled in October and more likely heard sometime in November but keep monitoring the City website under "Meetings and Agendas" because we do not want this to slip by unnoticed!

Keep writing those Letters to the Editor, at the Santa Fe New Mexican and maybe even the Reporter so we keep this issue on the radar.

Thursday night's close 4-3 vote by the Planning Commission recommending approval of the developer's Rezoning request, although disappointing also gives us something to work on. Don't Lose Heart or Hope! The fight is far from over at this point. All concerned need to keep up the good fight in all ways allowed as this case goes forward. Per the City's Land Use Code, the Planning Commission's recommended approval of the developer's Rezoning Request can't proceed to the Governing Body until the Commission adopts "findings of fact" supporting its recommendation, probably September 1. it will be important for all concerned to review those "findings" because opponents of this rezoning will need to challenge them as being unsupported or contradicted via written comments before this case goes to hearing by the Governing Body and at that hearing (I'm guessing that hearing will be in late September or early October).

The Planning Commission will revisit this application for rezoning and the development at their hearing on the following Thursday, 8/18/22. There will be no oral public comment at the next hearing.
