Our great country, America, used to encourage people to vote. We saw voting as a right (not to be negotiated or taken away) and as the way to strenghten our country. The Supreme Court took that right away. Thus, please cosponsor and fight to improve the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014.
Why is this important?
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right now, Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Rep. Rice should support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.
