Protect The Working Class

We, your constituents urge you to hold the line when you are faced with a fiscal decision. We voted for you so you would protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. We want you to vote to continue tax cuts for those individuals earning less than $200,000. and for families earning under $250,000. We want you to raise taxes on those individuals earning over $200,000 and families earning over $250,000, to Clinton era levels.

Why is this important?

This issue has to do with protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and ending the deficits caused in large part by the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy. All these protections are good for the economy.

Deficits have nothing to do with Social Security. Social Security is paid into by employees and employers. Deficits are caused by revenue shortfalls.
