Protect Voters' Rights
North Carolina is still prone to racism. No better indication is the exploitation of heavily populated minority neighborhoods by changing their voting precincts. The last Republican redistricting maps for the state clearly show this. Also, the state assembly passing a law to require I.D.'s at the polls limits the rights of the elderly, low-income, minorities and the disabled from being easily able to exercise their right to vote. Please support the US Congressional bill to restore the key components of the Voting Rights Act.
Why is this important?
I believe in liberty and justice for all. “The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right now, Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Rep. Price should support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.”
