We live at 1532 Drake Avenue. A spec builder is putting a 4550 sq ft home right behind us. Our property slopes to this project and it is taking away all our deck and garden privacy. We went to all the planning meetings, met with the builder, and the architect, and we all agreed on 4 window modifications. We wanted a smaller bedroom window as well as reeded/stained or frosted glass for all the windows. We also asked for a hedge of evergreen trees to be planted along the fence. The plan was approved with our requests.
The windows got installed, the builder did NOT comply to the approved plan, and is currently trying to get the plan modified by filing an FYI. We are shocked he blatantly installed the wrong product, then applies for an FYI, to get modification. Why have a city planning commission? We need your help.
Our privacy is gone, yours will be next! We ask that all our planning commissioners fight for our privacy by forcing contractors to comply with approved plans. Contractors that should not have the right to devalue our homes, or make us pay for huge landscape projects to plant privacy hedges. We thank you for your service.
