Protest Against East River Plaza Expansion
Protest against a proposal by Blumenfeld Development Group (BDG) and Forest City Ratner to build three fifty story towers atop of East River Plaza Mall on 116-118 streets and Pleasant Avenue in East Harlem. Preserve and expand the dwindling low income affordable housing and economic opportunities afforded to our community residents.
Why is this important?
Blumenfeld Development Group (BDG) and Forest City Ratner are now proposing an additional 1.1 million square feet of residential buildings above East River Plaza in East Harlem. The neighborhood opposes this mega planned urban development because it is offensive and out of scale, requiring numerous variances that will truly make this an “out of context” project.
