Put the rights of children above the rights of parents

We believe that returning children to the custody of biological parents after years of absence and delinquency is harmful. If children are thriving in guardianship situations, their right to stability should not be jeopardized by court-imposed reunification to honor the rights of the biological parent. Put children first!

Why is this important?

Children who are thriving in the long-term care of guardians are being returned to biological parents after years of absence simply because the courts are required to consider the rights of the parents, even when it is clearly detrimental to the child. The right of the child to a loving, happy, healthy environment should supersede the rights of all others.
