Put the Sports Arena in the Mt. Baker neighborhood!
This Seattle Times editorial/opinion article: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2018109341_guest01essig.html makes what is, to me, a compelling case for putting the arena in another spot, a spot that would end the wars of opinion and resistance from the Port and other interested parties.
Why is this important?
I don't believe that the people behind the arena truly have the people or city's best interest at heart with their proposition to put yet another sports facility in the Sodo district. The decision that the people don't have a right to vote on whether or not to use public money for it really irks me when things like the seawall seem like lesser priorities that can be put at risk by a vote instead of the city saying "look this is critical, we need to use the money on this no matter what."
