Since their removal from the endangered species list wolves are now open to unregulated killing in most states. Even the Yellowstone wolves are being killed if they happen to stray from the boundaries of the park.
Why is this important?
As a person who loves animals and cares about maintaining the balance of our natural environment, of which wolves are a vital part, I fear that they will be driven to the point of extinction(again.) Many people seem to have nothing but contempt for them and would happily see them wiped out.
