Putnam County Legislature: Support the NY SAFE act
We, the undersigned people of Putnam County NY, are deeply disappointed and troubled by the Putnam County Legislature's stance of opposing the New York SAFE Act. We are concerned about the escalating epidemic of gun violence in our country and support good faith measures, like the New York SAFE Act and President Obama's initiatives, to curb it.
Why is this important?
Just like many of us, I was deeply affected by the tragedy in Newtown, CT. After Governor Cuomo passed the NY SAFE act, I was incredibly proud to be a resident of NY state. However, recently, I was troubled to learn that our Putnam County Legislators do NOT support the NY SAFE act. Please join me in letting them know how we feel.
