Everyone quit misinterpreting the 2nd Amendment, by ignoring the "to form militias" half. In 1789, the U.S. military was a mere 89 soldiers and that is why James Madison decided to add the second amendment where civilian minutemen could aid in the defense of a foreign invasion. Today, there is an entity known as the U.S. military that is the world's mightiest and richest armed force. Armed militias are no longer required.
