The minimum wage is below poverty level and needs to be raised immediately to at least $10.10 an hour. Texas is the most uninsured state and has millions needing public assistance even while working full time. Then time has to be now.
Why is this important?
I wanted to start this petition because I myself grew up in poverty and at 30 am still trying to crawl out. I am now a store manager of a retail shop owned by a corporation and see first hand how many people struggle to make ends meet with multiple part time jobs. If we could raise the minimum wage even higher than $10.10 it would help so many families actually thrive instead of just struggling to survive.
