Raise Progressive Revenue Now!
Youth of Massachusetts Organizing for a Reformed Economy (YMORE) wants the Massachusetts legislature to support young people by raising significant revenue in a progressive manner this spring. We have worked on this issue for 4 years, because we are tired of our peers in Dorchester being pitted against our peers in Brookline over limited resources. ALL young people should have their needs met. Our principles for raising this revenue are as follows: Equity, Opportunity, Sustainability, Courage and Compassion.
Why is this important?
We care about this issue because young people (and many other groups) in Massachusetts need the services provided by our state budget. Yet elected officials frequently shy away from raising taxes, and when they do, they inevitably hurt the poorest among us.
