Raise the Minimum Wage to $15 Per Hour in NM
*If adjusted for increases in worker productivity since 1968, the minimum wage would be $21.72.
*If the minimum wage had grown at the same rate as the income of the 1% since 1968, it would be $22.62.
**If adjusted for inflation since 1956, the minimum wage would be $10.56.
The United States has become, or is quickly becoming, a de facto plutocracy/oligarchy. Before people begin thinking of guillotines, this must end. Why should the 1% be allowed to steal a greater and greater percentage of the profit created by the labor and minds of the 99% - the workers? If the government was not a de facto plutocracy/oligarchy, why would it let the minimum wage fall to where an individual working 40 hours a week is living in poverty? What significance does the word "minimum" have to these mendicants to the plutocrats/oligarchs?
Workers unite and sign this petition. It is step 1.

Why is this important?
The United States has become a de facto plutocracy/oligarchy and that plutocracy/oligarchy is contemptible. Hate it. Demand it be fixed now.
