Raising the Minimum Wage in NYS

Many working class families in NYC as well as NYS are employed in jobs that only pay minimum wage. Some of these families are headed by single women with dependent children. For many such families this one paycheck must be stretch a number of ways to cover just the basic needs ie housing, food and clothing.
