To the members of the U.S.Congress and the President of the United States: Please reinstate the regulations instituted by the Glass-Steagall Act. Deregulating the banking system created an economic crash that ruined the lives of millions.
Why is this important?
Banks need to be regulated again, to avoid another destructive, crippling economic meltdown; big investment banks need to be separated from small passbook-holder banks. The Glass-Steagall Act protected these regulations.
