Realistic Spending cuts to Government
Continued calls for debt reduction can begin by all Government officials: Senate / House bringing their salaries more in line with what general public can expect in today's job market. That would include deminishing your lifetime benefit package.
Tired of those elected to represent instead allocating their own raises, benefits and other options majority of Americans no longer can hope to find in a job.

Why is this important?
GOP are constantly addressing the need to reduce spending in government, wanting smaller government. I propose they all take a serious salary cuts along with diminishing their lifetime benefit package to better reflect those they represent.
Allowing our representatives to get so far outside of our own earning potential has landed us in a situation where those that should represent us, instead resent us.
