To: The Washington State House and The Washington State Senate

Reclaim Democracy & Our Electoral Process

We, the People of the Washington State, urge our State Legislature to ask Congress to pass a resolution sending an amendment to the States for ratification that states:

The rights protected by the Constitution of the United States are the rights of natural persons only.

The privileges of artificial entities shall be determined by the People, through Federal, State, or local law, and shall not be construed to be inherent or inalienable.

The judiciary shall not construe contributions or expenditures intended to influence elections to be speech under the First Amendment.

Federal, State and local government shall regulate, limit, or prohibit contributions and expenditures, including a candidate’s own contributions and expenditures, for the purpose of influencing in any way the election of any candidate for public office or any ballot measure.

Federal, State and local government shall require that any permissible contributions and expenditures be publicly disclosed.

Why is this important?

Let's overturn the Supreme Court's erroneous decisions that corporations deserve the same rights as natural human beings and that money is the same thing as speech.
