We petition to create a law requiring that all plastic bags and other plastic items sold in the USA be marked as recyclable or not. The recycling symbol or a recyclable symbol with a larger red circle with a slash across it shall be at least 1 cm in diameter so that people are aware of the recyclability of the bag or container.
Why is this important?
Having a recycling symbol on all recyclable bags and plastics will help reduce the accumulating trash. If an item is not recyclable it should be marked so that people are aware that it will become part of the landfills. This would encourage companies to find recyclable solutions to their packaging.
