Why is this important?
A plastic bottle can take 450 years to decompose. If it is sent to a recycling plant, it can be downcycled into something new.
Aluminum cans can take 200 years to break down. Glass bottles have an undetermined amount of time. Both are infinitely recyclable if sent to a recycling plant.
