The Affordable Care Act requires employers to provide health care coverage for all Full-Time employees or face penalties. Unfortunately, the act inaccurately defines "Full-Time" as any employee who works an average of 30 or more hours per week. As a result, employers across the country are preparing for the ACA by cutting traditionally part-time, 30-hour-per-week employees, back to 28 hours or less. The last thing America’s part-time employees need is a pay cut! We demand that Congress stop this unintended consequence of the ACA by immediately and accurately defining full-time employees as those who work 35 or more hours per week.
Why is this important?
All across the country, employers are preparing for the Affordable Care Act by cutting the hours of their employees. This can easily be rectified by accurately defining "full-time" employment under the ACA as 35 or more hours per week. Congress must act NOW before the effects of these cuts impact our fragile economy. Please sign today!
