Methane gas leaking during the fracking process accelerates global climate change increasing the probability of natural disasters. The Environmental Protection Agency has detected ten efficient ways of significantly reducing 80% of that pollution. The environmental protection agency has also created the natural gas STAR program. This program recommends corporations to invest in state of the art technology equipment to reduce pollution. One of the program suggestions is that corporations acquire equipment costing $500,000 dollars to reduce the emission of gases during fracking. The issue with this project is that is only a recommendation and not a mandated law. This means that corporations are not required to follow those guidelines. For this reason is important that local, state, and federal legislators pass regulatory laws following the recommendations of the Environmental Protection Agency.
