If Congress fails to pass budget cuts, it should affect their wallets. Not ours. We elected our representatives to solve problems through compromise. They have failed. The working class should not suffer as a result of their incompetence.
Why is this important?
Instead of firing 30,000 teachers, cutting funding for thousands of first responders in local communities, eliminating more than 4 million meals for senior citizens, and cutting after school programs for over one million children, I propose that all members of Congress receive a pay reduction. The reduction will be evenly distributed among all members of Congress.
