Immediate cut in Wages and Benefits for ALL Government Officials. Decrease Wages by at least 15% and reduce all Health/Retirement Benefits by 40%. Only when a person IS in office, should they receive Health Insurance benefits and even then THEY should be paying at least the amount that the 'rest of us pay' for premiums. Once a government official's term ends, their benefits will be offered to them for a 'premium' which they pay. Student loans, which heretofore, have been 'given' to Congressional Leaders' children, must be paid in full, just like everyone else's Student loans. NO FREE RIDES !
Why is this important?
Reducing wages and benefits for Government Officials in Congress and the Senate. This would help the deficit, as well as, make it clear to these 'government officials' WE PAY THEIR WAY ! And since they are really not doing the jobs we hired them for....they do not deserve the benefits they're receiving. Let's put government officials on the same level as the people they are SUPPOSED to be representing...NO 'extra benefits' ..no, excused from paying their kid's Student loans, NO Health Benefits unless THEY'RE paying for them,,,especially, AFTER they are 'out of office' ... Then we'll see how much of the 1% THEY want to represent !
