REDUCE THE SALARIES AND BENEFITS OF CONGRESS
THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER PAYS THE CONGRESSIONAL SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR LIFE!!
The members of Congress only work two or fewer days per week. The lowest paid member makes $171,000.00/annually. In an economy where people are starving, jobs are scarce, and the congress wants to kill unions where the average American can make $50,000 their salaries are an outrageous expense for taxpayers.
They have four (4) bills in the House of Representatives that are designed to create jobs that have been there since September 2011 that have been shelved as they DO NOTHING!
Congress is presently trying to cut Social Security benefits even though this program is totally self-funded and is not, nor has it ever been a part of the deficit as well as increase the Medicare age when benefits can be collected. These actions are being taken all while they DO NOTHING AND MAKE AN EXHORBITANT SALARY which they do not earn and we are providing.
It is time in the midst of SPENDING CUTS RHETORIC THAT WE INITIATE SOME SPENDING CUTS OF OUR OWN. THE SALARIES AND BENEFITS OF THE CONGRESS is the first thing we want cut.
*Congress gets paid a pension that we, the taxpayers, pay for up to 80% of their salaries for LIFE
*Congress has 100% Medical Coverage also paid for by the taxpayers
*Congress is trying to break the unions by supporting "RIGHT TO WORK" legislation
*Congress is trying to kill the Social Security and Medicare programs that we are dependant upon
*Congress is against all legislation protecting women
*Congress is against all legislation supporting gays
*Congress is NOT working for the TAXPAYER WHO PAYS THEIR SALARIES
They have the ability to set their own salaries, give themselves raises and set their own work schedules at the EXPENSE OF THE TAXPAYERS!
WE NEED TO STOP THIS LUNACY NOW.
