Reform University of Michigan's Sexual Assault Prevention Education

One in Five women are sexually assaulted while in college. Our goal is to reduce this statistic by improving the University of Michigan's sexual assault prevention education program. Currently, the University sponsors "Relationship Remix," a mandatory program for all freshmen that unfortunately lacks effectiveness and attendance. Our aim is to improve this workshop by:
- Reducing each group's size
- Enforcing a stricter attendance policy
- Providing more time options to students

Why is this important?

Sexual assault is a serious and prevalent issue on college campuses with horrible repercussions. This issue has escalated so much that President Obama recently created a task force to protect students from sexual assault. In order to promote prevention and reduce the number of assaults, we must make students aware of the gravity of this problem and empower them to prevent it.
