We CAN act to reduce senseless killing.
The Supreme Court may have ruled on the right of individuals to own guns but the Second Amendment is silent on regulation. Strict regulation can be legislated.
Legislation should ban the sale, ownership or possession of any type of automatic gun or ammunition by any individual; establish a government buy-back program for existing automatic or semi-automatic guns; require training and licensing in order for any individual to own a gun; and establish a common database of gun shops, guns and gun owners for law enforcement purposes.

Why is this important?
We have just witnessed yet another horrific instance of the killing of young children and adults, this time in Newton, Connecticut. My heart is broken for the innocent victims and their families. We need to take action now to prevent mass killing and to reduce all killing.
