Reinstatement of our Guidance Counselor

We the students of the Philadelphia High School for Girls are demanding the reinstatement of our counselor to our school. The counselors are a vital and integral part of our health and well-being. They are our college guidance as well as people that we can go to when we need to have a private and confidential conversation. This relationship takes time to build and maintain. Ms. Sheriff is an important member of our school community.

Why is this important?

Guidance counselors play a vital role in our school community. Without them our school will not be able to function and the students will not receive the necessary information they need in terms of planning their future, personal issues, and college information.

Most colleges require students to send a recommendation from a counselor and getting a new counselor for the 2012-2013 school year will greatly affect the student's college process.
