Dear Mayor and the City of Fairview Council Memebers,
When a decision such as painting no parking red lines all over our our neighborhoods involves the value of our properties, all the apartment-complex red lines become a very poor decision. The person who pulled the trigger did not consider the value of our homes and the look and feel of our neighborhood.
I spoke to many neighbors about these lines, and every single one of them wanted those lines removed. We had a few visitors that have stopped by before and after the stripes, and trust me, they commented on how ugly they were. The statement that it's a fire hazard is no excuse for such ugly lines that devalue our homes and our neighborhoods. Why?
1) The police could still give out tickets when only signs were up, because people were still illegally parked.
2) You can simply put more signs up and increase patrols for cops giving out tickets.
Easiest thing to remove ugly red striped is to NOT paint them in the first place. I urge you to listen to the voices of all Fairview residents when it comes down to this issue. I hope the resident of Fairview can quickly petition the city to have these unnecessary ugly lines removed.
Thank you for listening.
Why is this important?
The city painting unnecessary no parking red lines impacts the value of all homes in the villages of Fairview. No parking signs and extra patrols should have been sufficient without feeling the need to de-value our homes and our neighborhoods.
