The Honorable Ray LaHood, Secretary of the US Department of Transportation: Please remove Peter Vigue from his appointment to the National Freight Advisory Committee due to a blatant conflict of interest regarding his East-West Corridor project in the state of Maine.

Why is this important?

Mr. Vigue, president of Cianbro Corporation, is promoting a privately owned "East-West Corridor" across Maine, shielded from public oversight by its private nature and a recently passed law which was co-written by Cianbro lobbyists. Signers of this petition require he either immediately step down or be removed from his position on the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Freight Advisory Committee due to a blatant conflict of interest. While it seems from the list of those on the committee (http://www.dot.gov/briefing-room/us-transportation-secretary-lahood-announces-national-freight-advisory-committee) that conflicts of interest are commonplace, we do not wish Maine's interests to be represented so inappropriately.
