Remove Rep Paul Broun from House Science and Technology Committee
Rep Paul Broun has proven by his own words that he is incapable of fulfilling the Science and Technology Committee's mandate of ensuring our country excels in its named subjects.
From a speech he gave in September: “All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell. And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”
He also is a young-Earth creationist who believes that the Earth is only about 9000 years old and denies that evolution, the bedrock of all biological sciences is true. While this is sufficient to disqualify Rep Broun from the Science Committee, his declaration that Biblical Scripture guides his policy decisions further put into question his qualifications.
Rep Broun should be immediately removed from the House Science and Technology Committee since he obviously has no modern grasp of Science at all and therefore does not belong on a committee which makes science policy.

Why is this important?
Quality science and technology are vital for a country's security and economy. Without them manufacturing lags behind, security is weakened, innovation is stifled, and the curiosity which forms the basis of good scientific research is wasted.
