The assistant County administrator had the Confederate flag taken down after the attack by racist gunman in Charleston South Carolina. Then the 5 elected County Commissioners of Marion County Florida voted unanimously to restore it to the entrance of the County Commission Building, under the guise that it signified Florida history and heritage. Help me convince them that it is a symbol of traitors and racists, and should not be flown by public officials.
Why is this important?
It is an insult and hurtful to millions of Americans and Floridians that have to pass this symbol of the war against the United States by Southern states to withdraw from the Union and to retain slavery.
