REMOVE THE SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE SHORT-CIRCUIT

WE WANT LEGISLATION TO REMOVE OR COMPENSATE FOR THE SHORT-CIRCUIT TO RESTORE MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY AS WELL AS LOWER OUR DEFICIT!

Via FICA both Social Security and Medicare are funded by payroll deductions on the working class. Exporting jobs without compensating by some means for the FICA funds lost short-circuits this mechanism as fewer jobs means fewer workers for FICA to deduct from.

The fix is constantly monitored and adjusted surcharges on all imported goods to price them within a fair and free competitive window of what they would cost to make domestically. WE NEED THIS PRO-LABOR LEGISLATION!

o Exclude foreign firms which come here, employ domestic labor and obey our national labor laws.

o Do NOT exclude domestic firms which ship jobs overseas then try to bring those products back here to sell.

o Implement this as another tool of the Fed to be administered impartially using raw economics, just as interest rates are, to provide a means to regulate money flow to and from the national economy.

Note that we are not advocating outright protections (as in tariffs), but setting windows within which free trade flows as normal. By this means we protect domestic businesses from being overwhelmed while still forcing them to be efficient and we remove the advantages of off-shoring while maintaining good standards of domestic living rather than letting our living standards be "watered down".

With this in effect we now have more domestically employed and should see more revenue going into Medicare and Social Security thru FICA, thus making them solvent again :-). After all, Social Security as originally conceived is the minimal level income safety net for the old and disabled paid by domestic labor thru the good faith contract of the active generation helping take care of the retired and disabled. So if we keep letting our jobs go overseas who will pay YOUR Social Security?

It important that revenue from this surcharge NOT be used for new spending, but 1) for Medicare and Social Security funding needs and to pay off all back-owed IOUs, 2) to lower the deficit, then 3) to lower the general taxes on everyone by funneling into the general revenue pool.

Why is this important?

Via FICA both Social Security and Medicare are funded by payroll deductions on the working class. This gets short-circuited when jobs are off-shored. The fix surcharging all imported goods to price them within a fair and free competitive window of what they would cost to make domestically. WE NEED THIS PRO-LABOR LEGISLATION...
