Require the use of certified green cleaning and maintenance products in all California public and non-public elementary and secondary schools.
Why is this important?
Traditional cleaners contain ingredients linked to asthma, cancer, reproductive toxicity, hormone disruption, neurotoxicity, and other negative effects. These cleaning agents contaminate the air, surfaces, and dust that surround our children, teachers, and school staff every day. I have been chemically sensitive my entire life, and have physically suffered through many days cooped up in a chemically laden classroom, both as a student and teacher. I hope to give my children a healthier environment in which to grow and learn.
