Honorable Mr. Smith: please cosponsor and work to improve the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014
Why is this important?
The right of an American to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy. Countless Americans have sacrificed to defend it. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of the Voting Rights Act, which had protected that right for many Of our citizens. Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Rep. Smith should be part of this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.
