When SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act, it closed opportunities for many citizens to vote. We need to restore the provisions that prevent the right to vote from being taken away from any citizen.
Why is this important?
The current behavior of some election officials and politicians is acting to deny poor, people of color, women and others the right to vote. Without the federal government's ability to oversee local election provisions, this situation will push American voting rights back over 100 years.
