Rep. Ros-Lehtinen & Rep. Diaz-Balart: Lead for Immigration Reform!

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart,

Thank you for being our champions for Immigration Reform for years. We need you now, more than ever, to use your leadership and make sure Immigration Reform happens this year.

Each day that passes without Immigration Reform is a day that more than 1,200 families are separated and U.S. born children are orphaned. Each day there are missed opportunities to welcome future professionals who will strengthen our economy, farmworkers who put food on our tables, workers who serve our tourists and boost our local economies, taxpayers, home-owners and new business owners who want to create new jobs and help our economy grow.

Coming from an immigrant family and as members of a thriving South Florida that has grown thanks to the contributions of immigrants, we know you can do more than just say yes to Immigration Reform.

We need you to take stronger, concrete steps in urging your fellow members of Congress to move Immigration Reform forward:

1) Stand up to the far-right extremists in the Republican party who are blocking reform with hateful, racist, anti-Latino and anti-immigrant rhetoric;

2) Urge the Gang of 7 to finally introduce their much-anticipated bipartisan bill;

3) Urge the House Republican leadership to schedule a floor vote as soon as possible;

4) Demand President Obama suspend ALL deportations immediately until Immigration Reform is passed.

Sincerely,

Why is this important?
